Joint Yoke Removal (Fig. 4)
Park machine on a level surface, lower cutting
decks, stop engine, apply parking brake and remove
key from the ignition switch.
4. Raise lift arm enough to free joint yoke from lift arm.
Remove thrust washer (item 11) and spacer (item 10)
from yoke shaft.

5. Liftjointyokeandbasemounts fromdeck mount.Lo-
cate and retrieve shim (item 7) from between each base
mount and deck mount.

Remove cotter pin (item 23) and then slotted hex nut
(item22)fromjointyokeshaft.Removehardenedwash-
er (item 14) and thrust washers (items 11 and 13, if
equipped) from joint yoke shaft.
Joint Yoke Disassembly
1.
Remove snap rings from yoke.
3.

Remove eight (8) cap screws (item 3) and flat wash-
IMPORTANT: Support yoke when removing cross
and bearings to prevent yoke damage.
