Lift/Lower Problems
Problem
Possible Causes
Cutting deck will not raise.
Engine RPM is too low.
Hydraulic oil level in reservoir is low.
Lift arm pivots are binding.
Lift cylinder is damaged.
Relief valve in lift control manifold is stuck.
Pilot valve in lift control manifold is damaged or
sticking.
Proportional flow divider in lift control manifold is faulty.
Gear pump section for lift control manifold is worn or
damaged.
Cutting deck raises, but will not stay up.
Lift circuit lines or fittings are leaking.
Lift cylinder is damaged.
NOTE: Lift cylinders cannot provide an absolutely
perfect seal. The lift arms will eventually lower if left in
the raised position during storage.
Side cutting deck drop too fast.
Orifice in lift control valve is missing or damaged.
Check valve in lift control valve is faulty.
Orifice in lift control valve is plugged or faulty.
Lift arm pivots are binding.
Side cutting deck drop too slow.
Lift cylinder is damaged.
Cutting deck will not lower.
Lift arm pivots are binding.
Lift cylinder is damaged.
Counterbalance pressure is excessive.
Lift control valve is worn or damaged.
Pilot valve in lift control manifold is damaged or
sticking.
