STORAGE
Adding a Fuel Stabilizer to Extend Fuel Storage Life
When adding a fuel stabilizer, fill the fuel tank with fresh gasoline. If
only partially filled, air in the tank will promote fuel deterioration during
storage. If you keep a container of gasoline for refueling, be sure that it
contains only fresh gasoline. Add fuel stabilizer following the
manufacturer's instructions.
After adding a fuel stabilizer, run the engine outdoors for 10 minutes to
be sure that treated gasoline has replaced the untreated gasoline in
the carburetor. Stop the engine, and move the fuel valve to the OFF
position.
Draining the Fuel Tank and Carburetor
1.
Place an approved gasoline container
below the carburetor drain tube, and
use a funnel to avoid spilling fuel.
Turn the fuel valve to the ON position.
DRAIN SCREW
2.
Insert a long, flat-tip screwdriver into
the access hole on the left side.
Locate the carburetor drain screw
near the carburetor bowl. Loosen
(don’t remove) the drain screw until
the fuel starts to drain. Drain until the
fuel tank is empty, then tighten the
drain screw.
WARNING
Gasoline is highly flammable and explosive.
You can be burned or seriously injured
when handling fuel.
Keep heat, sparks, and flames away.
Handle fuel only outdoors.
Wipe up spills immediately.
