Mounting the Bar and Chain

Unscrew nut and take off cover.

Fit guide bar over the stud (3).
Engage peg of tensioner slide in
locating hole (4) – place the chain
over sprocket (5) at the same time.
Now turn tensioning screw (1)
clockwise until there is very little
chain sag on the underside of the
bar – and the drive link tangs are
located in the bar groove.

Refit the sprocket cover and screw
on the nut only fingertight.
The chain is very sharp – wear work
gloves to protect hands from cuts.
Now refer to "Tensioning the Saw
Chain".

Fit the chain –
start at the bar nose.
:
Turn tensioning screw (1)
counterclockwise until the
tensioning nut (2) butts against the
left end of the housing slot, then
back it off 5 full turns.
