Saw Chain
Carbide-tipped saw chain
(36 RDR only)
36 RDR saw chain
The angles must be the same on all
cutters. If angles are uneven, the
chain will run roughly, not in a
straight line, wear quickly and may
break.
:
Do not work with a dull or damaged
saw chain as it will increase the
physical effort required and
vibrations, produce unsatisfactory
results and a higher rate of wear.
All cutters must be the same length.
If the cutters are not the same length,
they will have different heights. This
makes the chain run roughly and may
cause it to break.
:
:
Clean and check your chain for
cracks in the links and damaged
rivets.
Replace any damaged or worn parts
of the chain and match the new
parts to the shape and size of the
original parts.
A = Sharpening angle 15°
B = Side plate angle 85°
Find the shortest cutter and grind all
other cutters back to the same length.
To sharpen the carbide-tipped saw
chain, use only the USG universal
sharpener with a diamond wheel. Follow
the instructions supplied with the USG
universal sharpener.
Warning!
It is absolutely essential to comply
with the angles and dimensions
specified below. If the saw chain is
incorrectly sharpened – and in
particular if the depth gauge is set
too low – there is an increased risk
of kickback of the chainsaw, which
may result in serious or fatal injury.
