3.
Using unleaded gasoline, fill the fuel tank to within
1/4” to 1/2” (6 to 13 mm) from top of tank, not into
filler neck.
DANGER
POTENTIAL HAZARD
IMPORTANT: Do not fill the tank more than 1/4”
from the top of the tank because the gasoline must have
room to expand.
•
When fueling, under certain circumstances, a
static charge can develop, igniting the gasoline.
WHAT CAN HAPPEN
4.
Install the fuel tank cap and wipe up any spilled fuel.
•
A fire or explosion from gasoline can burn you
and others and cause property damage.
IMPORTANT: Do not mix oil with the gasoline. Never
use methanol, gasoline containing methanol, gasohol
containing more than 10% ethanol, or white gas
because the fuel system could be damaged.
HOW TO AVOID THE HAZARD
•
Always place gasoline containers on the ground
away from your vehicle before filling.
Do not fill gasoline containers inside a vehicle
or on a truck or trailer bed because interior
carpets or plastic truck bed liners may insulate
the container and slow the loss of any static
charge.
•
Do not use fuel additives other than those
manufactured for fuel stabilization during storage,
such as Toro Stabilizer/Conditioner. Toro
Stabilizer/Conditioner is a petroleum distillate based
product. Toro does not recommend stabilizers with an
alcohol base such as ethanol, methanol, or isopropyl.
Do not use additives to enhance the power or
performance of the engine.
•
•
When practical, remove gas–powered
equipment from the truck or trailer and refuel
the equipment with its wheels on the ground.
If this is not possible, then refuel such
equipment on a truck or trailer from a portable
container, rather than from a gasoline
dispenser nozzle.
5. Connect the spark plug wire (Fig. 6).
Operation
•
If a gasoline dispenser nozzle must be used,
keep the nozzle in contact with the rim of the
fuel tank or container opening at all times until
fueling is complete.
Controls
Refer to Figure 8 for the locations of the mower controls.
