Operating Instructions
:
:
:
Fit the two sleeves (1) in the frame.
Extending or retracting wheels
During break-in period
Push the frame onto the flange.
The wheels can be locked in different
positions.
A factory new machine should not be run
at high revs (full throttle off load) for the
first three tank fillings. This avoids
unnecessary high loads during the
break-in period. As all moving parts
have to bed in during the break-in
period, the frictional resistances in the
engine are greater during this period.
The engine develops its maximum
power after about 5 to 15 tank fillings.
Insert the screw (2) with washer (3)
through the hole (4) in the flange.
The wheels can be retracted if they are
not required.
:
:
Fit the washer (3) and nut (5) and
tighten down firmly.
Insert screws (7) in tapped holes in
frame, push the the notched
adjuster rail (6) towards the handles
while tightening down the screws.
:
The wheels must swing down under
their own weight when the machine
is in the normal working position. If
necessary, loosen the nut (5) a
quarter turn.
During operation
After a long period of full-throttle
operation, allow engine to run for a while
at idle speed so that the heat in the
engine can be dissipated by flow of
cooling air. This protects engine-
mounted components (ignition,
8
carburetor) from thermal overload.
After finishing work
Wait for engine to cool down. Drain the
fuel tank. Store the machine in a dry
place. Check tightness of nuts and
screws (not adjusting screws) at regular
intervals and retighten as necessary.
:
:
Loosen the rotary knob (8).
Engage rotary knob in required
position and tighten it down firmly.

Helpfull to know how to use the machine properly.
Details of how to use and care for the rototiller/edger
My husband purchased a Stihl 55 tiller for me, and I have no idea how to run it..the store told me they would send me a manual, but after several visits and inquiries about it, I still have not received one. I no longer count on them and my husband is away for work, often. I just want to know how to start it..I can handle it from there. Thank you! i am not mechanically inclined..I need help that I can print and keep.
