Use a screwdriver to remove the
shutter (3) from the shroud.
:

Install the prefilter (1) so that the
symbol r (winter operation) points
up.
The four positions of the
Master Control lever
Turn the shutter 180° and refit it on
the left of the spark plug
(see illustration).
0 = Engine off
ignition is switched off.
Refit carburetor box cover and
secure it with the twist lock.

= Normal run position
:
Refit the spark plug boot.
Heated air is now drawn in from around
the cylinder and mixed with cold air –
this helps prevent carburetor icing.
engine runs or can fire.
Tomovethe  Master Control lever from #
to n or l, press down the throttle
trigger interlock and squeeze throttle
trigger at the same time.
At temperatures above +20 °C
(70°F)
n=Warm start – this position is used to
start a warm engine. The Master
Control lever moves to the normal
run position as soon as the throttle
trigger is squeezed.

Return shutter and prefilter to
position s (summer operation).
This is essential to avoid engine
running problems, i.e. overheating!
l=Cold start – this position is used to
start a cold engine.
