Operating Instructions
Overload Circuit Breaker
and Indicator Lamp
If the overload circuit breaker has cut
off the power supply:
During operation
1
:
:
Check level in chain oil tank.
:
:
Pull the guide bar out of the cut.
Fill up with fresh chain oil when the
level reaches the "min" mark - see
"Filling Chain Oil Tank".
Wait for the overload circuit breaker
to cool down. The machine resets
automatically and is ready for
operation within a brief period.
:
:
Start cutting with the saw chain
running.
2
:
:
If necessary, disengage the chain
brake.
Always cut with a properly
sharpened chain and apply only
moderate feed pressure. The
sound and running behavior of the
saw must remain constant. The
motor speed may only drop a little in
the cut – the chain must not jerk
or stop.
Press in the reset button (2) as far
Indicator lamp
as stop.
The indicator lamp (1) comes on in
If the motor does not start when you
switch on, the overload circuit breaker
has not cooled down sufficiently.
certain operating conditions:
It lights up permanently when the
chain brake is engaged (chain locked) or
the overload circuit breaker has
interrupted the power supply.
:
If motor noise drops suddenly or the
chain stops, reduce feed pressure
immediately to avoid overheating
and possible damage to the saw.
Once the motor starts:
:
Run your saw for about 15 seconds
off-load. This helps cool down the
motor and considerably delays the
overload circuit breaker from
tripping again.
Overload Circuit breaker
The overload circuit breaker cuts off the
power supply to the saw in case of
mechanical overload due to, e.g.
–
–
–
excessive infeed force
“lugging down” the motor
pinching the saw chain in the cut.
