Observe safety precautions.
If engine doesn't start:
:
:
Set the Master Control lever to
“Stop” position 0
Always check operation of chain
lubrication before starting work.
If you did not move the Master Control
lever to "Warm Start" n quickly enough
after the engine began to fire, the
combustion chamber has flooded.
Crank the engine several times with
the starter to clear the combustion
chamber.
To shut down the engine:
Move Master Control lever to 0
:

Refit the spark plug and connect the
spark plug boot  –
reassemble the other parts.
At very low outside temperatures:
Allow engine to warm up
:
Press down the throttle trigger
interlock, open the throttle fully and
set the Master Control lever to cold
start l.
As soon as the engine runs:
:
:
Set Master Control lever to  “Warm
Start”  n – even if engine is cold!
:
Blip the throttle trigger to disengage
it from starting throttle position –
Master Control lever will move to
“Run” position # and the engine will
settle down to idling speed.
Now start the engine.
If fuel tank has been run until dry and
then refueled:
:
Pull starter rope several times until
fuel line is primed.
:
Disengage chain brake:
Pull the hand toward the top handle.
:
Open throttle slightly – warm up
engine for short period.

Remove the chain sprocket cover.
:
:
Pull off the spark plug boot.
Unscrew and dry off the spark plug.
