Device that produces AC current, then converts this
current to DC for equipment functions.
Types:
Stator type, located behind the engine flywheel. This
type is found on most air cooled engines.
Refer to the engine Service / Workshop Manual for
specific information. Here is an example of a test
procedure for a stator type alternator.
