1.  Never tamper withsafetydevices. Checktheir proper
operationregularly. Refer tothemaintenanceandadjust-
ment sectionsof thismanual.
2.  Beforecleaning, repairing, or inspectingmachinedisen-
gageall control leversandstoptheengine.  Wait until the
auger/impeller cometoacompletestop.  Disconnect the
sparkplugwireandgroundagainst   theenginetoprevent
unintendedstarting.
3.  Checkboltsandscrewsfor   proper tightnessat frequent
intervalstokeepthemachineinsafeworkingcondition.
Also, visuallyinspect machinefor anydamage.
4.  Donot changetheenginegovernor  settingor over-speed
theengine. Thegovernor controlsthemaximumsafe
operatingspeedof theengine.

Donot put handsor feet near rotatingparts, inthe
auger/impeller housingor chuteassembly. Contact withthe
rotatingpartscanamputatehandsandfeet.
Theauger/impeller control lever isasafetydevice. Never
bypassitsoperation.  Doingsomakesthemachineunsafe
andmaycausepersonal  injury.
Thecontrol leversmust operateeasilyinbothdirections
andautomaticallyreturntothedisengagedpositionwhen
released.
Never operatewithamissingor  damagedchuteassembly.
Keepall safetydevicesinplaceandworking.
Never runanengineindoorsor  inapoorlyventilatedarea.

Alwaysusetheclean-out  tool providedtounclogthedis-
chargeopening. Donot unclogchuteassemblywhileengine
isrunning. Shut off engineandremainbehindhandlesuntil
all movingpartshavestoppedbeforeunclogging.
Useonlyattachmentsandaccessoriesapprovedbythe
manufacturer (e.g. wheel weights, tirechains, cabsetc.).
