Storage
Observethefollowing, whenpreparingyour snow
thrower for off-seasonstorage:

Drainfuel intoanapprovedcontainer outdoors, away
fromanyopenflame. Allowenginetocool. Extin-
guishcigarettes, cigars, pipesandother sources
of ignitionprior todrainingfuel. Fuel left inengine
duringwarmweather deterioratesandwill cause
seriousstartingproblems.

If unit istobestoredover 30days, preparefor
storageasinstructedintheseparateenginemanual
packedwithyour unit.

Runengineuntil fuel tankisemptyandenginestops
duetolackof fuel.
Removegasolinefromcarburetor andfuel tankto
prevent gumdepositsfromformingontheseparts
andcausingpossiblemalfunctionof engine.

Draincarburetor bypressingupwardonbowl drain,
locatedbelowthecarburetor cover.
Neverstoresnow
throwerwithfuel
intankindoorsor
inpoorlyventilated
areas, wherefuel
fumesmayreachan
openflame, spark
orpilot light asona
furnace, waterheater,
clothesdryerorgas
appliance.
• Fuel stabilizers, suchasSTA-BIL®, areanaccept-
ablealternativeinminimizingtheformationof fuel
gumdepositsduringstorage. Donot draincarburetor
if usingafuel stabilizer.

Wipeequipment withanoiledragtoprevent rust.
Removesparkplugandpour oneounceof engine
oil throughsparkplugholeintocylinder. Cover spark
plugholewithrag. Crankengineseveral timesto
distributeoil. Replacesparkplug.

Followthelubricationrecommendationsfoundinthe
MaintenanceSection.
Alwaysstorethesnowthrower inaclean, dryarea.
