To Start Engine

Insert ignitionkeyintoslot.
9. Pushstarter buttontocrankengine. Asyoucrankthe
engine, movechokelever toFULLchokeposition.
Nowfollowtheinstructionsbelowasit pertainsto
your unit. SeeFigure4for locationof controls
10.Whenenginestarts, releasestarter button, andmove
chokegraduallytoOFF. If enginefalters, movechoke
immediatelytoFULLandthengraduallytoOFF.
11.Whendisconnectingthepower cord, alwaysunplug
fromthethree-prongreceptaclefirst, andthen
fromthesnowthrower.
Electric Starter (if so equipped)

Followall instructionscarefullyprior
tooperatingtheelectricstarter.
Useextremecare
whenhandling

orwhiletheengine
ishot orrunning.

Recoil Starter
1. Movechokelever toFULLchokeposition(coldengine
start).
1. Theelectricstarter isequippedwithagrounded
three-wirepower cordandplug, andisdesignedto
operateon120volt AChouseholdcurrent.

If engineiswarm, placechokeinOFFpositioninstead
of FULL.

Pushprimer buttonslowlytwoor threetimesfor cold
enginestart.

Determinethat your housewiringisathree-wire
groundedsystem. Askalicensedelectricianif you
arenot certain.
If yourhomewiringsystemisnot athree-wire
groundedsystem, donot usethiselectricstarter
under anyconditions.
If yourhomeelectrical systemisgrounded , but
athree-holereceptacleisnot available, oneshould
beinstalledbyalicensedelectricianbeforeusingthe
electricstarter.
4. If engineiswarm, pushprimer buttononlyonce.
NOTE: Alwayscover vent holeinprimer buttonwhen
pushing. Additional primingmaybenecessaryfor first
start if temperatureisbelow15°F(-9°C).
Theelectricstarter
must beusedwitha
properlygrounded

5. Graspstarter handleandpull ropeout slowly, until it
pullsslightlyharder. Let roperewindslowly.

Pull starter handlerapidly. Donot allowhandletosnap
back. Allowit torewindslowlywhilekeepingafirm
holdonthestarter handle.

If youhaveagroundedthree-prongreceptacle,
receptacleat all
proceedasfollows:

Asenginewarmsupandbeginstooperateevenly,
rotatechokelever slowlytoOFFposition. If engine
falters, returntoFULLchoke, thenslowlymovetoOFF
position.

6. MoveChokeControl to“Full” position.
7. Pushprimer slowly, three(3) times, makingsureto
cover vent holewhenpushing.

Connect power cordtoswitchboxondashpanel.
Plugtheother endof power cordintoathree-prong
120-volt,
grounded, ACreceptacle.
