STARTING INSTRUCTIONS

WARNING: To aid starting the two-c ycle or
four-c ycle ga soline powe rheads in cold
weathe r, the unit should be store d in an area
with the temp erature above 40˚F (4.4˚ C).

Refuel and store the ga soline powe rhead in
an area free of potential vapor ignition sources
such as open flames (pilot lights) or electrical
sparking devices (switches , electric motors ).

Squeeze the powe r trigge r on the powe rhead
to start the rotor. The depth and weight of the snow
gove rns the forwa rd speed. Refer to the op erator' s
ma nua l of the powe rhead for furthe r instruc tions .

Do not tip the snow throwe r to self-prop el. Pus h the
snow throwe r so tha t unit rides on the scraper.
3.
Release discharge directiona l control into the
discharge direction slot to secure pos ition of snow
throwing desired.
DISCHARGE DIRECTION ADJ USTMENT
Snow ma y be discharge d to the left, straight forwa rd, or
to the right.
NOTE: Make sure discharge directional control is securely
pos itioned in direction slot and cannot rotate freely.
To change the direction, us e the following instruc tions :
1.
Firmly gras p handle of discharge directional control and
pull up. This releas es the rod, which is spring-loaded,
from the current discharge direction slot and allows free
movement (Fig. 4).

For the mos t efficient snow throwing, keep the vanes
parallel, throw snow downwind , and slightly ove rlap
each swath (Fig. 6)
5.
Hold the unit by the handle and us e a swinging or
sweeping motion whe n cleaning steps or deep drifts.

Turn the discharge directiona l control to the left,
cente r, or right, depending on which direction you
want to throw the snow (Fig. 5).
NOTE: From the cente r pos ition, the discharge
directiona l control turns 45 degre es only in either
direction (left or right). Do not force.
