Retensioning during cutting work:
Shut down the engine.
Wear work gloves.

Shut down the engine and then
slacken the nuts.
Chain must fit snugly against the
underside of the bar - and, with the
chain brake disengaged, it must still be
possible to pull the chain along the bar
by hand.

Hold the bar nose up -
Use screwdriver to turn the
tensioning screw clockwise
until chain fits snugly against
the underside of the bar.
•
•
If necessary, retension the chain.
Now turn tensioning screw&
clockwise until there is very little chain
sag on the underside of the bar -
and the drive link tangs are located
in the bar groove.
Tighten down the nutssv

A new chain has to be retensioned
more often than one that has been in
use for some time -
check chain tension frequently -
see section "During Operation".

Refit the sprocket cover -
and screw on the nuts
only finger-tight.
