Using the Self-propel Drive
1. To change the cutting height, pull the cutting height
lever toward the wheel and move it to the desired
position (Fig. 13).
To operate the self-propel drive, simply walk forward with
your hands on the upper handle and your elbows at your
sides, and the lawn mower will automatically keep pace
with you. The faster you walk, the farther the handle will
slide and the faster the lawn mower will propel (Fig. 12).
To slow down the mower, simply reduce your walking
speed; to stop the drive, stop walking.

Using the Grass Bag
Note: If, when backing up after self-propelling, the lawn
mower does not roll backward freely, nudge the lawn
mower forward about an inch without engaging the
self-propel drive (Fig. 12), then pull the lawn mower
backward.
Occasionally, you may want to use the grass bag for
bagging lush grass or collecting leaves.

Stop the engine and wait for all moving parts to stop.
You can adjust each wheel individually with the wheel
height adjustment lever. Cutting heights are 1 inch
Ensure that the discharge door handle is fully forward
and that the pin is engaged in the catch (Fig. 14).

Danger
Adjusting the cutting height levers could bring
your hands into contact with a moving blade and
result in serious injury.
