Set the gearbox to position 1 when
using the planting hole auger.
Gearbox position 2 is not practical
for drilling planting holes because of
the high tool speed.
Transporting the Machine
STIHL recommends the use of a
carrying strap**.
Always shut off the engine.
Carry the unit with the drilling tool
pointing to the rear – hot muffler away
from your body.
To reduce the risk of serious burn
injuries, avoid touching hot parts of the
machine, especially the surface of the
muffler.
Working with a wood drill**
or twist drill
:
Make sure you have a secure
footing.
During operation, always hold the
machine firmly with both hands to
control unexpected reactive forces
caused by the drilling tool jamming
in or passing through the wood. Be
prepared to release the throttle
trigger.
