SERVICING THE UNIT

Pull the belt tens ione r (idler arm) away from the drive
pulley. Remove the dama ge d or broke n belt from the
driven pulley and drive pulley inside of the hous ing.
Discard approp riately (Fig. 10).
Extreme care and knowle dge of the system is required
whe n servicing this unit. Service should be performe d by
qualified service personne l only. Replaceme nt parts for
this unit mus t be identical to the parts the y replace. Refer
any repair to an authorize d service dealer.

Loop the new belt around the drive pulley and driven
pulley (Fig. 10). Pull the belt tens ione r (idler arm)
away from the drive pulley to install the belt around
the drive pulley.
INSPECTING/ REP LACING THE DRIVE BELT
NOTE: Make sure the washer is still in place on the
driven pulley shaft prior to reinstalling the belt
case cove r.
When servicing the unit, us e only origina l equipme nt
ma nufa cture r replaceme nt parts. Inspect the drive belt
onc e a year or every 50 hours of op eration, whichever
come s first, for wear. If the drive belt needs to be
replaced, us e the following instruc tions .

unit before you perform any ma intenance.

Remove the flange lock nut from the belt case cove r
with a wrench or nut driver (Fig. 9).
Remove the seven (7) screws from the belt case
cove r us ing a #T20 Torx bit or flat blade screwdriver
(Fig. 9).

Reinstall the cove r with the seven (7) screws. To
ma ke installation easier, place the narrow part of the
cove r into the recess of the hous ing. Install the top
two screws, the n pus h the rest of the cove r down
into the recess and ove r the rotor shaft. Torque all
seven (7) screws to 18-23 in• lb (2.0-2.5 N• m).

Reinstall the flange lock nut. Torque the nut to
80-100
in• lb (9.0-11.2 N• m).
NOTE: If the flange lock nut is dama ge d, do not replace
it with a standard nut. Replace only with an
origina l equipme nt ma nufa cture r replaceme nt
part.
