Auger Belt Replacement
Toremoveandreplaceyour snowthrower’sauger belt,
proceedasfollows:

Removetheplasticbelt cover onthefront of the
enginebyremovingthetwoself-tappingscrews.
NOTE: Drainthegasolinefromthesnowthrower, or
placeapieceof plasticunder thegascap.

Carefullypivot thesnowthrower upandforwardso
that it restsontheauger housing. Removetheframe
cover fromtheundersideof thesnowthrower by
removingfour self-tappingscrewswhichsecureit.

Roll theauger belt off theenginepulley.
a. Loosenandremovetheshoulder screwwhich
actsasabelt keeper.

b. Unhookthesupport bracket springfromthe
frame.

Removethebelt fromaroundtheauger pulley, and
slipthebelt betweenthesupport bracket andthe
auger pulley. Reassembleauger belt byfollowing
instructionsinreverseorder.
NOTE: Although
multi-viscosity oils
(5W30, 10W30 etc.)
improve starting in cold
weather, these multi-
viscosity oils also result
in higher oil consump-
tion when used above
32ºF. Check your snow
thrower’s engine oil
level more frequently to
avoid possible engine
damage from running
low on oil.
NOTE: DoNOTforget toreinstall theshoulder screw
andreconnect thespringtotheframeafter installinga
replacement auger belt.

NOTE: Do not sand-
blast spark plug. Spark
plug should be cleaned
by scraping or wire
brushing and washing
with a commercial
solvent.

IMPORTANT
NEVER replace the
auger shear pins with
standard pins. Any
damage to the auger
gearbox or other com-
ponents, as a result of
doing so, will NOT be
covered by your snow
thrower’s warranty.
