If thesnowthrower will not beusedfor 30daysor longer,     1.  Removeall gasolinefromthecarburetor  andthefuel
or if it istheendof thesnowseasonwhenthelast   pos-
sibilityof snowisgone,  theequipment needstobestored
properly. Followstorageinstructionsbelowtoensuretop
performancefromthesnowthrower  for manymoreyears.

duetolackof  fuel.
Preparing Engine
3.  Draincarburetor bypressingupwardonbowl  drain,
locatedbelowthecarburetor  cover (refer tothe
Tecumsehenginemanual for moredetailedinstruc-
tion).
WARNING: Neverstoresnow
throwerwithfuel  intankindoors
orinpoorlyventilatedareas,
wherefuel fumesmayreachan
openflame, sparkorpilot  light
asonafurnace,  waterheater,
clothesdryerorgasappliance.
WARNING: Donot draincarbure-
torif usingfuel stabilizer. Never
useengineorcarburetorcleaning
productsinthefuel  tankor
permanent damagemayoccur.
NOTE: It isimportant toprevent gumdepositsfromform-
inginessential fuel systempartsof theenginesuchas
thecarburetor, fuel filter, fuel hoseor tankduringstorage.
NOTE: Fuel stabilizer (suchasSTA-BIL) isanaccept-
ablealternativeinminimizingtheformationof   fuel gum
depositsduringstorage. Addstabilizer  togasolineinfuel
tankor storagecontainer. Alwaysfollowmixratiofoundon
stabilizer container. Runengineat least 10minutesafter
addingstabilizer toallowit toreachthecarburetor.  Donot
draincarburetor if usingfuel stabilizer.

CAUTION: Alcohol blendedfuels(calledgasohol or using
ethanol or methanol) canattract moisturewhichleadsto
separationandformationof  acidsduringstorage.  Acidic
gascandamagethefuel  systemof anenginewhilein
storage.
4.  Removethesparkplugandpour   one(1) ounceof
engineoil throughthesparkplugholeintothecylinder.
Cover sparkplugholewitharagandcranktheengine
several timestodistributetheoil.  Replacesparkplug.
Toavoidengineproblems,  thefuel systemshouldbe
emptiedbeforestoragefor  30daysor longer. Follow
theseinstructionstoprepareyour  snowthrower for
storage:
