• Theaugersaresecuredtothespiral shaft withtwo
shear pinsandcotter pins. If theauger shouldstrikea
foreignobject or icejam, thesnowthrower isdesigned
sothat thepinsmayshear. Refer toFigure9.
•
If theaugerswill not turn, checktoseeif thepinshave
sheared. Oneset of replacement shear pinshasbeen
providedwiththesnowthrower. Whenreplacingpins,
sprayanoil lubricant intoshaft beforeinsertingnew
pins.

Drive Belt Replacement
Toremoveandreplaceyour snowthrower’sauger belt,
proceedasfollows:
1.
Removetheplasticbelt cover onthefront of the
enginebyremovingthetwoself-tappingscrews.

Drainthegasolinefromthesnowthrower, or placea
pieceof plasticunder thegascap.

Carefullypivot thesnowthrower upandforwardso
that it restsontheauger housing.
NEVER replace
the auger shear
pinswithanything
other thanOEM

Removetheframecover fromtheundersideof the
snowthrower byremovingfour self-tappingscrews
whichsecureit.

or other components
as a result of failing
to do so will NOT be
covered by your snow
thrower’s warranty.
3. a. Grasptheidler pulleyandpivot it towardtheright.
b. Roll theauger belt off theenginepulley.
c. Lift thedrivebelt off enginepulley.
4.
Slipthedrivebelt off thepulleyandbetweenfriction
wheel andfrictionwheel disc.
•
Removeandreplacebelt inthereverseorder.
