Lubricatethedrivegearshaftwithcleanhydraulicoil.
Noting the open and closed sides of the front bearing
block, insert the drive end of the drive shaft through the
bearingblockwiththepressuresealsidedown.Careful-
ly install shaft into front flange.

Lubricate the idler gear shaft with clean hydraulic oil.
Install idler gear shaft into the remaining position in the
bearing block. Apply a light coating of clean hydraulic oil
to gear faces.
10.Noting
the openand closed sides ofthe frontbearing
block, install rear bearing block with pressure seal side
up.

Applyalightcoatingofpetroleumjellytonewo--rings
and o--ring grooves in the housing. Install new o--rings
to the housing.
12.Install
marks on the housing and front flange.

IMPORTANT: Do not dislodge pressure seals from
bearing blocks when installing housing to assem-
bly.

13.Gently
slide the housing onto the assembly. Firm
hand pressure should be sufficient to engage the dowel
pins.
14.Check
tomake sure that the surface ofthe rear bear-
ing block is slightly below the face of the housing. If the
bearing block is not below the housing, check assembly
for a shifted pressure seal, backup seal, or o--ring. Cor-
rect before proceeding.

15.Apply
alightcoatingofpetroleumjellytotheexposed
side of the rear cover.
16.Place
rear cover onassembly using marker orscribe
mark for proper location. Firm hand pressure should be
sufficient to engage the dowel pins.

17.Install
the four cap screws and hand tighten.

IMPORTANT: Avoid using excessive clamping
pressureonthemotorhousingtopreventdistorting
the housing.
18.Place
front flange of the motor into a vise and alter-
nately torque the cap screws from 38 to 43 ft--lb (51 to
58
N--m).
19.Remove
motor from vise.
20.Place
asmallamountofcleanhydraulicoilintheinlet
of the motor and rotate the drive shaft one revolution
(Fig. 82). If any binding is noted, disassemble the motor
and check for assembly problems.
