IMPORTANT: Use care when handling the hydraulic
valve. Slight bending or distortion of the stem tube
can cause binding and malfunction.

Note correct location of sealing and backup rings. Re-
moveanddiscardsealingandbackupringsfromvalves.
Using a deep socket, remove valves from manifold.

A.  Contamination may cause valve to stick or hang
up.Contaminationcanbecomelodgedinsmallvalve
orifices or seal areas causing valve malfunction.
B.  If valve sealing surfaces  appear pitted or dam-
aged, the hydraulic system  may be overheating or
there may be water in the system.

Use eye protection such as goggles when using
compressed air for cartridge valve cleaning.

Clean valves by submerging valve in clean mineral

spirits toflush outcontamination. Particles asfine astal-
cum powder can affecttheoperation ofthevalve. Beex-
tremely   careful    not   to   damage    cartridge.   Use
compressed air for cleaning.

Lubricate new valve seal kit components with clean
hydraulic oilandinstallonvalves.Thesealing    andback-
up rings must  be arranged properly on  the valves for
proper operation and sealing.

Thread valves  carefully into correct  manifold port.
The valves should go in easily without binding. Using a
deep socket, torque hydraulic valves to  25 ft--lb (33.9
N--m).
