Overaperiodoftime,thesealsinthedeckmotorscan
deteriorate and wear from heat and contamination. A
leakingmotorsealwillby--passoiltothecasedrainline
andmakethemotorlessefficient.Eventuallyenoughoil
losswilloccurandcausethedeckmotortostallinheavy
cuttingconditions.Continuedoperationwithamotorin
aninefficientconditioncangeneratesomuchheatthat
thecartridgesealsinthehydraulicmanifoldblockcanbe
affected,compoundingtheproblem.
Ifthedeckmotorsslowduringoperation,usethefollow-
ingproceduretoanalyzetheproblem:

propertensionandbeltsarefreeofgrease.
Makesuredeckdriveareaisclean,drivebeltisat

Checkthehydraulicoilforwatercontaminationand
replaceasnecessary(appearscloudyormilky).

Makesuredeckdrivehydrauliccircuitworkingandre-
liefpressuresarewithinspecification.
4.
CheckPTOmanifoldblocklogiccartridgesandrelief
valvesforburntorhardenedo--rings.Replaceo--rings
asnecessary.
