system is contaminated. If there is a severe failure in a
closed loop system, flush all lines,  fittings and compo-

Towing Machines with Hydrostatic Transmissions
It is important to remember that most Toro Commercial
Products are equipped with hydrostatic transmissions.
Pushing or towing these machines can cause damage
to the transmission. Most hydrostatic transmissions are
equipped with a bypass valve, that if opened, allows the
machine to be pushed or towed a short distance.
By–pass
valve
IMPORTANT: Do not push or tow the machine faster
than 2–3 mph (3–4.8 km/hr) because internal trans-
mission  damage  may  occur.  The  by–pass  valve
must be open whenever the  machine is pushed or
towed.
IMPORTANT: Running the engine with the by–pass
valve open will cause the transmission to overheat.
