REELMASTER 5100/5300/6500/6700: Reel Control Lamp
ClipACE automatically varies the cutting reel speed
within a specific RPM range. This works good for most
mowing conditions. It is possible to drive too fast or too
slow so that the reel speed cannot be adjusted to match
the ground speed. For example, the lamp will be ON
when operating the reels with the machine stopped. If
the REEL CONTROL lamp comes on during operation,
the operator should speed up or slow down until the
lamp turns off.
NOTE: On older machines this lamp is located on the
side instrument panel.
REELMASTER 223/5100/5200/5300/5400: Cutting Unit Down Pressure Springs
The cutting unit down pressure system can vary the
downward force of each cutting unit on the turf. The sys-
tem has four positions. Each position changes the
downward force by 8 lbs. (3.6 Kg). The lightest position
equals 110 lbs. (50 Kg). The heaviest position equals
134
lbs. (61 Kg).
Different ground pressures work better than others, de-
pending on the turf and climate conditions.
REELMASTER 223/5100/5200/5300/5400/6500/6700: Reliability of ACE Controller
The failure rate of the Toro ACE Controller has been less
than one–tenth of one percent. If you think that the con-
troller on your machine is not working properly, check
everything else first. If is very likely that the controller is
NOT causing the electrical problem.
