Position aerator on a firm, level surface. If attached

to tractor, disengage PTO, apply tractor parking brake,
stop engine and remove key from the ignition switch.

Remove rear hood from machine to allow access to
coring head drive belt.

Remove pulley shield from machine (see Cover Re-

moval in the Service and Repairs section of Chapter 3
−
Chassis).
4.
Remove fasteners (items 5, 6 and 7) that secure belt

guard to support. Remove belt guard from machine. Flat
washer (item 8) and cap screw (item 9) can remain on
frame.
