Check Fuel Lines and Connections
Fuel Tank Installation (Fig. 2)
Check fuel lines and connections periodically as recom-
mended in the Operator’s Manual. Check fuel lines for
deterioration, damage or leaking connections. Replace
hoses, clamps and connections as necessary.
1. Position foam strips, fuel tank and tank straps to ma-
chine frame. Place felt strip between tank and both tank
straps.

Secure straps and fuel tank to frame with four (4)
Drain and Clean Fuel Tank
flange nuts.
Drain and clean the fuel tank periodically as recom-
mended inthe Operator’s Manual. Also,drain and clean
the fuel tank if the fuel system becomes contaminated
or if the machine is to be stored for an extended period.
3. Connect fuel hose to fuel tank outlet at bottom of
tank. Secure hose with clamp.

Connect fuel hose to the fuel filter inlet. Secure hose
with clamp.
To clean fuel tank, flush tank out with clean solvent.
Make sure tank is free of all contaminates and debris.

terminal. Tighten nut that secures battery cable from 10
to 15 ft--lb(14 to 20 N--m).Make sure that battery cover
is secured.
Add fuel to tank and check for any fuel leaks.
Connect negative battery cable to negative battery
Fuel Tank Removal (Fig. 2)

Chock wheels to prevent machine from moving.
ParkmachineonalevelsurfacewiththeengineOFF.

To prevent unexpected machine operation, discon-
nect the negative battery cable from the battery terminal
(see Battery Service in the Service and Repairs section
of Chapter 4 -- Electrical System). Position discon-
nected negative cable away from the negative battery
terminal.

Disconnect fuel hose from the fuel filter inlet.
Lower end of disconnected fuel line into a suitable

container and drain fuel tank.

Lift fuel tank from machine.
Make sure to clean up any spilled fuel. Also, check
thatfoam strips under fuel tank location are in good con-
dition.
