NOTE: Make sure exhaust manifold and engine seal•
ing surfaces are free of debris or damage that may pre•
vent a tight, leak–free seal.
CAUTION
The muffler and exhaust pipe may be hot. To
avoid possible burns, allow the engine and ex•
haust system to cool before working on the ex•
haust system.

If exhaust manifold was removed, place exhaust
gaskets on the engine exhaust manifold studs. Secure
exhaust manifold to engine with four hex nuts. Torque
hex nuts from 17 to 21 ft–lb (23.1 to 28.5 N–m).

Park machine on a level surface, fully raise coring
head, engage parking brake, stop engine and remove
key from the ignition switch. Secure coring head with
service latch.
IMPORTANT: Finger tighten all exhaust system
fasteners before securing so there is no preload on
exhaust components.

4. Secure muffler to frame with two (2) carriage screws
and flange nuts.

Remove two (2) flange nuts that secure muffler to
frame. Retrieve two (2) carriage screws. Remove muf•
fler and exhaust elbow from machine.
5. Tighten muffler clamps.

Position exhaust heat shield to machine and secure

If exhaust manifold removal is required, remove four
hex nuts from the exhaust manifold studs on engine.
