Unfasten all the vanes at the vane mount. Refer
to "VANE REPLACEMENT" on page 7 - 6. The
vane mount and vane linkage can be removed
together. Using a punch, lightly drive the vane
link from the vane mount. Should the vane mount
or link be misformed or bent, replace.
Note: It will be necessary to support the vane
mount with a block of wood or vise when driving
the linkage from the vane mount (Figure 182).

Reinstall the vane control assembly with the new
hardware. Use your parts manual as a guide
during reassembly. Lastly, using the appropriate
mounting screws, install the upper shroud.

EXCELLENT . Hard to find manual and very detailed . Only downside is the pics and wording in pics are backwards , but I can deal with that
The manual provides detailed step-by-step instructions for engine removal and installation but there is nothing in it about repair of the recoil starter. The engine removal instructions will be helpful because the starter is buried behind the fuel tank and engine support bracket. I think my problem is a sticking starter dog but getting to it will be a major project.
