Neutral Engine Speed Control Coil
The neutral engine speed control coil is energized by the
speed control switch and cruise module. The energized
coil becomes a magnet to hold the accelerator lever in
position and maintains engine speed for sprayer opera-
tion when the machine is stationary.

Testing

floorboard. Unplug coil connector from machine wire
harness (Fig. 22).
Locate control coil next to accelerator lever under the
NOTE: Prior to taking small resistance readings with a
digital multimeter, short the meter test leads together.
The meter will display a small resistance value (usually

0.5
ohms or less). This resistance is due to the internal
resistance of the meter and test leads. Subtract this val-
ue from from the measured value of the component you
are testing.

resistance between the two terminals of the connector.
Resistance should be from 10.2 to 11.2 ohms.
Using a multimeter (ohms setting), verify control coil

resistance is incorrect, replace control coil.
If coil does not engage when voltage is applied or coil
