6. Reinstall the cartridge valve (7 or 13):
A. Lubricate new O--ring and backup ring of seal kit
(8
or 11) with clean hydraulic oil and install. The O--
CAUTION
ring and backup ring of seal kit must be arranged
properly on the cartridge valve (7 or 13) for proper
operation and sealing.
Before continuing further, read and become fa-
miliar with General Precautions for Removing
and Installing Hydraulic System Components.
B. Thread valve carefully into the applicable port
(RD1 or FC1). The valve should go in easily without
binding. Torque valve to 35 ft--lb (47 Nm).

A. Unscrew and remove knob (17). Remove both
jam nuts (18).
A. Install applicable locating plate (25 or 26) so that
the pin seats into the locating hole.
B. Slideoffapplicableindicatorplate(6or19)being
careful not to lose springs (20 or 21). Remove
springs.
B. Turn the threaded cartridge valve (7 or 13) stem
carefully clockwise until it stops.
C. Face detent plate (22) counterbore down.

back counterclockwise 1/4 turn.

the hydraulic system may be overheating or there
may be water in the system.

valve stem. Apply “Loctite 242” or equivalent on the
valve stem threads. Screw knob (17) all the way
down until it hits the upper jam nut.
CAUTION
I. On directional cartridge valve (7), turn knob (17)
counterclockwise so the arrow is 90o with the back
of the manifold (27). Simultaneously tighten upper
jam nut (18) and turn knob so itis tightand thearrow
is pointing 45o to the right in line with the indicator
