Reel Bearing Replacement

Remove grooming reel (see Reel Removal).
Replaceall four ball bearings as a complete set.
Check condition of groomer ball bearings and re-

A. In the bearing housing and belt drive housing,
install outer ball bearing first with the seal facing out.

B. Installbothdrivenpulleyspacersintoeachhous-
ing.

C. Install inner bearing in both housings so they are
flush with the housing inner recess of the housing
(Fig. 11).

Install grooming reel (see Reel Installation).
Lubricate bearings with No. 2 multipurpose lithium
base grease.

Drive Belt Replacement
1.
Park mower on a level surface. Make sure engine
is OFF. Remove high tension lead from the spark plug.

Loosen both set screws in the clutch knob. Remove
clutch knob and poly washer from the clutch assembly
(Fig. 6).

Loosen socket head cap screw on the idler block.
Pivot idler to loosen drive belt and remove belt (Fig. 14).

Install new drive belt. Tension drive belt and tighten
socket head cap screw (see Drive Belt Tension Adjust-
ment).

Reinstall poly washer and clutch knob to the clutch
assembly. Tighten set screws in the clutch knob (Fig. 6).
