Pump oil out of cylinder into a drain pan by slowly

Before disassembling cylinder, plug ports, wash exte-
rior with cleaning solvent and dry thoroughly.
IMPORTANT: Use caution when using a vise to avoid
scratching or distorting any parts.
Retaining ring

Put cylinder in a vise so shaft end is facing up.
4.
Use a spanner wrench to rotate head (Item 6) and re-
move retaining ring (Item 9). Grasp end of shaft and use
a twisting and pulling motion to carefully extract the pis-
ton, shaft and head assembly from the barrel.

Remove cylinder from vise.
6.
Remove lock nut (Item 1) from shaft, then remove pis-
ton (Item 5), and head (Item 6). Remove and discard
seals, o–rings, wear ring and wiper from piston and
head.
