Drain hydraulic tank (see Change Hydraulic Fluid).

Remove hydraulic tank from machine using Figures
and 41 as guides.
Hydraulic Tank Inspection
Clean hydraulic tank  and suction strainer  with sol-

Inspect  hydraulic tank  for  leaks,  cracks, or  other
damage.

On  early production  machines,  assemble  suction
strainer and fitting:
NOTE:  When applying hydraulic thread sealant to the
threads of fitting and the suction  strainer, do not apply
sealant to the first thread.
A.  Apply hydraulic thread sealant to the threads  of
the hydraulic  fitting (suction).  Secure fitting  to the
suction strainer.
B.  Apply hydraulic thread sealant to the threads  of
the suction strainer.

Apply  anti−seize   lubricant   to  four   flange  head
screws. Secure hydraulic  tank to machine with  flange
head screws. Torque flange head screws from 30 to 60
in−lb (3.4 to 6.8 N−m).
3.
Using a wrench, turn suction strainer into tank port at
least 1−1/2 to 2 full turns beyond finger tight.

and 41 as guides.
