Special Tools
Order special tools from your Toro Distributor. Some
tools may also be available from a local supplier.
Digital Multimeter
The digital multimeter can test electrical components
and circuits for current (amps), resistance (ohms) or
voltage. Obtain this tool locally.
NOTE: Toro recommends the use of a DIGITAL Volt--
Ohm--Amp multimeter when testing electrical circuits.
Thehighimpedance (internalresistance) ofadigitalme-
ter in the voltage mode will make sure that excess cur-
rent is not allowed through the meter. This excess
current can cause damage to circuits not designed to
carry it.

Skin--Over Grease
Special non--conductive grease which forms a light pro-
tective skin to help waterproof electrical switches and
contacts.

Dielectric Gel
Dielectricgelshouldbeusedtopreventcorrosionofcon-
nection terminals. To ensure complete coating of termi-
nals, liberally apply gel to both component and wire
harness connector, plug connector to component, un-
plug connector, reapply gel to both surfaces and recon-
nect harness connector to component. Connectors
should be thoroughly packed with gel for effective re-
sults.
