Replace Spark Plugs
Replace spark plugs after every 800 operating hours or
yearly, which ever occurs first. Recommended air gap is
0.030
inch  (0.762 mm).  Use  a Champion  RC  12YC
spark plug or equivalent.

NOTE:  A spark plug usually lasts a long time. However,
remove. Check spark plugs whenever the engine mal-
functions.
IMPORTANT: A cracked, fouled, dirty, or  otherwise
malfunctioning spark plug must be replaced. Do not
sand blast, scrape, or  clean electrodes by using a
wire brush because  grit may be released from  the
plug and fall into the cylinder. The result is usually
a damaged engine.

Set air gap between the center and side of the elec-
trodes  at   0.030  inch  (0.762   mm).  Install  correctly
gapped spark plug with gasket seal. Tighten spark plug
to 200 in–lb (230 kg–cm). If torque wrench is not used,
tighten plug firmly.
