Removal

Park machine on a level surface, lower cutting deck,
stop engine, engage parking brake, and remove key
from the ignition switch.

Remove hood using Figure 5 as a guide.
Installation

Install hood using Figure 5 as a guide.

Align hood to machine to allow correct operation of
hood latches and dust seals:

A. Place shim that is 3/8” to 7/16” (9.5 to 11.1 mm)
thick on top of frame (both RH and LH sides) near the
sides of oil cooler (Figs. 6 and 7).

B. Close hood so that it rests on shims and fasten
the hood latches.
C. Loosen hood pivots at frame to adjust vertical
placement of pivots. Re−tighten hood pivot fasten-
ers.

D. Loosen pivot brackets to allow hood latches to
pull hood against radiator support. Re−tighten pivot
bracket fasteners.

After hood is assembled to machine, check for the
following:
A. Check that bulb seals are equally compressed at
all contact points with hood.

B. Hood should open and close without contacting
oil cooler hardware.
