Glow Controller
The glow controller is attached to the inside of the con-
trol panel cover (Fig. 37).
5. If any of the conditions in Step 3 are not met or power
to terminal 1 exists and any of the other conditions in
Step 4 are not met:
NOTE: Refer to Chapter 8 – Foldout Diagrams when
troubleshooting the glow controller.
A. Verify continuity of the circuitry from the battery to
the glow relay and glow plugs (see Chapter 8 – Fold-
out Diagrams).
Controller Operation

When the ignition switch is initially placed in the ON
position, the glow controller energizes the glow plugs for
seconds. The console glow plug indicator light will
also be illuminated for 10 seconds.

ignition switch, glow controller, glow plug indicator
light, glow relay and ground (see Chapter 8 – Foldout
Diagrams).

de–energize after approximately 10 seconds.

Place ignition switch in the START position. Verify
the following while in the START position:
A. Glow plug indicator light is out.
B. Glow relay is energized.

NOTE: If there is no power to terminal 1 of the glow con-
troller, verify continuity of the circuitry from the ignition
switch to the controller and perform Step 4 again (see
