Solenoid Operated Cartridge Valves (Fig. 58)
Make sure the  manifold is clean before  removing

tamination. Useaprobetopushtheinternalspoolinand
out 20 to 30 times to flush out contamination. Particles
asfineastalcumpowder   canaffecttheoperation  ofhigh
pressure  hydraulic  valves.  Use  compressed  air  for
cleaning.

Cleancartridge reliefvalveusingcleanmineralspir-
its. Submerge valve in clean mineral spirits to flush out
contamination. Particles as fine as talcum powder can
affect the operation of high pressure  hydraulic valves.
Use compressed air for cleaning.
7.
Reinstall the cartridge valve:
A.  Lubricate new O--rings and backup rings of seal
kit with clean hydraulic  oil and install. The O--ring
and backup ring must be arranged properly on the
cartridge valve for proper operation and sealing.
6.   Reinstall the cartridge relief valve:
A.  Lubricate new O--ring and backup ring of seal kit
with clean hydraulic oil and install. The O--ring and
backup ring must be arranged properly on the car-
tridge valve for proper operation and sealing.
B.  Thread spool valve carefully into port. The valve
should go in easily without binding.

applicable port. The valve should go in easily with-
out binding. Torque valve to 35 ft--lb (47 N--m).
Note:
Use  care   when  handling  the   cartridge
valve. Slight bending or distortion of the stem tube
can cause binding and malfunction.
