Park  machine  on  a  level  surface,  lower  cutting

key from the ignition switch.

Remove four  (4) cap  screws that secure  steering
control valve to  machine. Slide steering  control valve
from lower end of steering shaft and remove from ma-
chine.

If necessary, remove fittings from control valve and
discard fitting O--rings.
Installation (Fig. 95)
1.
If fittings were removed from steering control valve,
lubricate and place new O--rings onto fittings. Install fit-
tingsintocontrolvalveandtightenfittings(seeHydraulic
Fitting Installation in the General Information section of
this chapter).
2.
Slide steering control valve onto lower end of steer-
ing shaft. Secure control valve to machine with four (4)
cap screws. Torque screws from 34 to 42 ft--lb(47 to 56
N--m).
3.
Remove caps or plugs placed during removal to pre-
vent contamination.
4.
Connect hydraulic tubes to fittings on steering valve
using tags placed during control valve removal to identi-
fycorrecttubeplacement(seeHydraulicHoseandTube
Installation in  the General  Information section  of this
chapter).

Install steering tower cover (item 1).
Fill reservoir with new hydraulic fluid as required.
